Killing of hospital staff
Punishment to killers demanded


Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP) yesterday condemned the killing of a woman staff of a hospital in the city after gangrape on Friday night.

Quoting newspaper report, the parishad in a press release said Shahnaz Akhter Erina, 19, assistant technician of ultra sonogram department of Greenland Hospital at Uttara, was working with Likhon, another employee of the hospital at night.

At around 11:00pm two to three friends of Likhon came to meet him and gangraped Erina after confining her to ultra sonogram room.

They left the scene after strangling her.

Police recovered the body on Saturday morning.

The parishad demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the persons responsible for rape and murder.

The parishad also urged the authorities concerned to ensure security and human rights of women at workplace.
