All exams under the National University scheduled for today, tomorrow and Tuesday have been rescheduled due to unavoidable circumstances.
Honours first year final, BBA sixth semester final, ECE part-1 first semester final and MBA second semester final will be held on Thursday (November 14) and ECE part-4 eighth semester final will be held on Friday (November 15), said a press release yesterday.

Youth dies in workplace accident

A youth died as a rack containing heavy metal pipes broke and fell on him at Siddique Bazar in Old Dhaka yesterday.
Deceased, Moktar Hossain, 25, of Chanpur, used to work at his relative’s hardware shop, Noorjahan Traders.
He was trying to bring down some pipes from the upper part of the rack, when it broke and Moktar fell under a pile of pipes, said his family. He was declared dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
US Assistant Secretary of State Nisha Desai Biswal due on Nov 16

US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Desai Biswal is expected to arrive in Dhaka on November 16 on a three-day official visit to discuss with government and opposition leaders a way to hold free, fair and credible elections.
The foreign ministry sources said Biswal, who was sworn in as the assistant secretary on October 21, may arrive in Bangladesh from Japan.
However, they said her programme schedule had not yet been finalised.
Cycle rally held in capital to celebrate 10,000 MW electricity production

The power ministry yesterday arranged a cycle rally featuring over 500 cyclists in the capital, celebrating its achievement in producing 10,000 megawatts of electricity in the country.
The rally was a part of a weeklong programme called “Alok Utshab” to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on November 12 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, said a press release. She will also inaugurate the National Power Week at the event.
The rally started around 9:00am from different points, including Mirpur, Titumir College and TSC, and ended before the parliament’s South Plaza.
