Call it a taboo, forbidden! But the tale is as old as time. Eyes meet; clicks, and the tale begin. Some are left undone and some reaches the stars and beyond. And even if it sounds cheesy, no one can deny its spell. The three little words and more on this special day that has secured a huge space in our conventional culture can be heard and perceived amongst the youth in the popular hangout that society calls The Campus.

Lets face it! Valentine's Day is as popular as any other occasion amongst us the youth of today and it is us who celebrate it with the enthusiasm that Saint Valentine himself did while helping the young lovers. We eagerly wait, and patiently prepare for this day. Heart-shaped candies, pretty cards and lots of xoxoxo! No wonder this holiday's our favourite.

A simple gesture of love, be it a hug, a smile or a warm touch; whoever gets it considers themselves lucky! They become the subject of envy to some as well. They sit and try their best to look depressed and grumpy, until someone says hello. It is true that these two extreme cases balance each other out and creates an amazing ambience in the campus.

Most of us reasoned this fact with a common answer, "Boys and girls actually get the opportunity to interact trying to overcome their curiosity in the campus, and be it their age or the environment, college life can never be compared with any other stage!"

In this wild world, where there is killing, people dying, children suffering, one day of love wont really hurt us, and even if it is dedicated to lovers as per history, Valentines Day is a celebration of the four letter-word, be it for parents, friends, kids, or ones country. So while opening that box of chocolate or smelling those red roses, understand the message it is meant to convey. Its is surely not asking for a drastic step to get what you want, but it is asking you to give what it takes to want and deserve what you think you want.

Each Time I Breathe

Bitan Bhattacharya

Talk to me to please me, dear,
talk to me to comfort me,
'cause your words are a balm to my shredded nerves
which make me forget my bitter past
and perk me up for the future.

Look into my eyes, dear,
look straight into my eyes,
'cause your gaze is so serene a beam to me
which removes all darkness in a trice
and enlightens my entire being.

Let me think of you, dear,
let me think only of you,
'cause your thought refreshes my consciousness
and creates a world in me
where your soul and mine become one
and achieved perfect fulfillment.

Smile on me, dear,
do smile on me,
'cause your smile creates a music in my heart
which overwhelms my mind
and everything around me.

Be with me, dear,
always be with me,
'cause your presence creates an aura of ecstasy
which works on me like tonic
and revives me.

I won't tell one thing, dear,
that thing I must hide,
'cause you yourself are something to me
I can't say
but can feel each time I breathe.
