In memory of the departed souls in BDR incident

Amatus Samiu Binte Awal

UNITED Nations Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) organized a Human chain to mourn the victims who were killed brutally inside Peelkhana, BDR on 25 February. The chain was formed at Banani Park field (opposite of Banani Bazar) at 5:30 pm on 5 March, 2009. Members of UNYSAB, students of different public and private universities and many others were present to protest against this horrific incident and show their respect to the martyrs by lighting a candle. Some of the family members of the officers who lost their lives that day were also present.

The chain was formed to raise the voice of the people for fair investigation and exemplary punishment of the perpetrators of the gruesome acts of murder. Then one minute silence was observed to pay tribute to all the departed souls.

The human chain reflected the collective thought that now is the time to come together and remain strong to support those who have lost so much.

UNYSAB offers its deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the events of 25 February.
