Farewell and Freshers' Reception at Dept. of Law, CU

A series of events took place to celebrate the farewell of the outgoing batch and reception of the freshers' at the Department of Law, University of Chittagong (CU). The students of the 12th batch of the department celebrated their farewell on April19, 2009. As they are leaving the university, they tried to make the last day in the department a memorable one.

On April 21,the freshers' reception of the 17th batch and farewell of the 12th batch of this department were arranged in the Conference Room. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Md. Alauddin was the Chief Guest while Dr. Abdullah-Al-Faruque, Chairman of the Deparment; Professor Zakir Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Law, CU; Prof. M. Shah Alam, Dr. Md. Jafar Ullah Talukder and Mr. Nirmal Kumar Saha were among the faculty members who spoke on the occasion.

The guests wished the newcomers and the outgoing students all the best in their future. They hoped that these promising students will leave good examples in the society. Later, the chief guests handed over the prizes amongst the winners of the ABIM Inter-Year Bangla and English Debate Competition 2009, the debate competition of the Department organised by Ain Bitorko Moncho (ABIM), the debate club of the Department.

The event came to an end with a cultural programme where a good number of songs were rendered by the students besides recitation of poems which included the popular Tagore song “Edin aji kon ghore go khule dilo dar”.
