The Beautiful Coyotes

Munaf M Chowdhury

I met these street urchins at the Airport railway station. I was trying to capture emotions of people who travel by the train. But instead, I was caught by some characters that I could not ignore. The boys in the pictures are two such characters.

Ragged, dusty and desolated, the beautiful coyotes were loitering around the railway tracks. The constant sound of the trains and the station has made them deaf to a large extent.

They were dawdling around the station platform with sacks and looking for litters to fill up their bags. They gather the litters and try to earn some living from it. Often they feed on throw-away food from the train passengers.

The pictures were taken at the time of Eid when people return to their home with glee in their hearts and joy in their eyes. But the eyes and heart of these "Beautiful
Coyotes" seemed vacant.
