Be responsible to the nation
Siddiqur Rahman
We love to find out the faults of others but never think of our own faults. We all love to play the blame game as it gives us mental tranquility. We get a lot of opportunities from our country but never think about doing anything in return. Does a nation look after its people, or do people look after their nation?
We are divided as people. We are not ashamed to be corrupt. Our respect for our constitution is not deep. Not to say, we have little confidence in our government. Our expression of honor is as impaired as our perception of shame. It is a kind of personality disorder. Whether a person is responsible for nation or nation is responsible for thepeople is the critical question.
As an individual is the least common denominator of his nation, he/she must cherish the nation, and the nation must let him/her flourish. Proud people often make proud nation. National character is not built in a day. It is built through a slow process, with proper education. Good personalities can play a pivotal role in building good characters.
It is high time for change of our mentality as changing winds are blowing throughout the world. If we ensure our commitment by developing our character and personality, the country will progress. We need to change our attitude, our approach and our mentality for our national development.
