Accreditation officers report strengths of ISD

Star Campus Desk

INTERNATIONAL School Dhaka (ISD), an IB World School offering education to students from playgroup to Grade 12 (ages 2 - 19 yrs), is celebrating its ten years of excellence in international education. Many developments have taken place within the school since ISD started its journey in 1999 including accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). This June NEASC and CIS Accreditation Officers reported many strengths of the School. The praiseworthy evaluations confirming its high standards gave ISD a marvellous start as the new academic year begins. Some of the strengths that the accreditation officers reported are:
* High quality teaching and support staff
* A well-led school focused on providing the students with the best possible international education
* Established IB programmes aligned with the school's philosophy and mission
* An excellent facility in which to offer a broad and rich education
* A safe and secure environment in which to learn and to work
* Strong university destinations, reflecting the academic profile of the graduates
* Significant participation in extracurricular activities by staff and students
* Well representation of Bangla culture
* Strong support given to language and learning needs through the Advancement Centre
Guided by its mission and philosophy ISD is building a community of responsible and compassionate life-long learners and it believes that learning is a rewarding experience. ISD's Grade 12 students have performed extremely well in their International Baccalaureate Diploma and College and University placements. 97% of its 2008-2009 diploma graduating class achieved this IB Diploma - an outstanding achievement that is well above the world average of 80%.
