English in Action activates all in AIUB

AIUB's Department of English, in association with Star Campus, has organized a creative contest called 'English in Action: A Literary Competition'. Students, regardless of academic disciplines, are competing in the following six distinct categories: (1) Oration, (2) Impromptu Speaking, (3) Dramatic Monologue, (4) Manuscript Reading, (5) One-Act Play (group item) and (6) Choral Recitation (group item).

The semifinal round was held on 19 November Thursday which witnesses intensive screening sessions; and after that the top four contestants in the first four solo categories and top four groups in the last two categories have been selected to participate in the Grand Finale to be held on 24 November, Tuesday, at 11 a.m. in the AIUB auditorium. Distinguished personalities from related fields will be the judges on that day.

Mr. Asaduzzaman Noor M.P., renowned media personality and Managing Director of Desh TV, and will be the Chief Guest in the event which will surely experience a huge turn out like the previous year by the students, faculty members, and dignitaries of university. The interesting part of this creative event is, the teacher-trainers of the champions of each category will also receive awards from the Vice Chancellor.
