From a reader to an intern!

Shamrin Afia Adiba

IN a virtual world where a week is the equivalent of a month and where people come and go so quickly, 4 years is an impressive accomplishment. Congratulations to The Star Campus on its 4th birthday!

I never really liked reading newspapers; every morning seemed to start with lots of negative news. But I am really thankful to my father, who have always emphasised on reading English newspapers, and then suddenly two years back, I discovered this splendid magazine, which is so brings together everything that can be of interest to young minds--campus news, opinions from students, quotations, jokes, technical news, scientific features, quiz, film reviews and photography. What attracted me the most were the names of different segments like Distant Diary and Just A Thought.

Since 2008, I have hardly missed reading any of the issues, especially the features and articles that are published on special occasions like Independence Day, Language Day, Pahela Boishakh, Father's Day, Mother's day, etc. I love all the stories shared. My most favorite part is university news that keeps me connected with the updates of educational activities around the country.

To be honest, I never really thought of becoming a part of Star Campus (SC) team and being responsible enough to complete my internship at Star Campus. It is the best thing that happened in my life. It is not only giving me a space to share my views, but also helping me to explore different areas close to a youth's heart and mind. This is the magazine that connected me with the people of different ideas and perceptions of life. It has taught me what the power of word is. We can engrave anger, mark an opinion, eroticise romance and doubt a question only so directly and yet carelessly with a pen and paper. It makes us who we are and as an identity we can never be lost from history because of the art of writing. I have seen Star Campus team working very hard, doing extensive editing to the write-ups to publish them.

The friendly ambience and the support of all my colleagues and the team leader Shahnoor bhai is really admirable.

Thank you Star Campus!
