Initiator of the event Ms.Sharmeen Hassan, Executive Director of INIFD, informed that they organize this sort of exhibition every year. In fact, it was arranged to give a drive to their young students to realise their talent in work. It is also a form of market research, through which they are able to evaluate the ongoing local market demand for fabrics and design in the fashion scene. It is like a platform for them to show their work beforehand and to help them gain experience before they really come into commercial arena. A total of 26 designers participated in the show, displaying a range of trendy work including salwar kameez, ladies and gents' fatua, short kurta, tops and skirts, exclusive saris, panjabi and shirt. Local fabrics like handloom cotton, local silk, Rajshahi muslin, Bexi cotton, Bexi voile and very few imported fabrics were used for the outfits. Other than the clothes, they offered household decorations mainly consisting of bedcovers and pottery showpieces. The prominent actress Sara Zaker inaugurated the occasion. “It seems to me that young minds' creativity has been expressed here. Fabrics are exciting and it really stimulates the designers, I believe. In our days we didn't have such options to look trendy as you get to do now in abound. They are actually carrying out a kind of tradition in fashion arena by promoting young talents every year”, said Sara Zaker. There was a special offer for those who really feel attracted to different fashion courses in INIFD- a 10% discount on spot admission throughout the exhibition.
