The leaflet advertises it as 'The Art of Fine Living', and just entering the premises will give you an idea of just what they mean. A four-storied building fashioned more like a house than a store, overlooking rose gardens and a driveway with a parking capacity of 25 cars gives Garcia Home Solutions a personal touch.

Cricket greats Athar Ali Khan and Faruk Ahmed got to see a lot of fine living on their many sporting and business trips abroad. Impressed by the lavishness of European home décor, they decided to bring some of that style and sophistication to the local market. Thus Garcia Home Solutions Ltd. opened its doors to business earlier this year. “I want my clients to come in and just fall in love,” says Khan. “Even if all they do is browse and have a cup of tea, I want them to feel a sense of comfort when they come here, and that is the principle behind Garcia.”

The enterprise offers 100 percent imported European design furniture and décor items. There are complete bedroom, living room, dining room, and children's bedroom sets, as well as independent pieces such as swivel seats, rocking chairs, massage chairs, corner tables, and more. The outlet offers a wide range of carpets, rugs and display items like paintings, showpieces and more. There is also a complete range of Italian bath fittings and sanitary-ware, including tiles, jacuzzis, and designer sinks. Everything is priced competitively, and will suit a wide range of budgets.

The furniture collection is big on leather-and-wood combos, which are really selling both here and abroad right now. Particularly, white leather sofas and divans are all the rage, according to Athar Ali Khan. There are some interesting innovations such as the marble-top breakfast table whose sides can be folded to make it into a smaller table for two. The children's furniture are bright and colourful, and made of more stain-resistant and scratch-proof materials, keeping the users in mind. Currently, the artwork on display is all imported, but there are plans to introduce local artists very soon. Garcia's immediate plans include expanding its range to include garden and office furniture.
