Anis made consul general of South Africa

Anis Ahmed, a noted businessman and managing director of MGH Group, has been appointed honourary consul general of South Africa in Bangladesh.

Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni recently approved his appointment, says a press release yesterday.

On the appointment, Anis Ahmed said Bangladesh's friendly country South Africa is now a focus of development activities and is also in the centre of attention of the global community for trade and commerce.

Anis said as a honourary consul general he will try to increase all types of communications including trade and commerce between Bangladesh and South Africa.

He was born in a respectable family in Dhaka on February 27, 1966. He completed his MBA degree from Arkansas University in the USA. He started his business in 1992 through establishing MGH Group after the name of his father late M Gaziul Haque.

MGH Group has considerable portfolio in Bangladesh's banking sector, tea industry and ceramic industry.
