The government has appointed two new high commissioners to the Bangladesh missions in Canada and Singapore.
According to a foreign ministry press release yesterday, the government has appointed Kamrul Ahsan, currently serving as the Bangladesh high commissioner to Singapore, as the new high commissioner of Bangladesh to Canada.
In another announcement, the ministry said the government has appointed Mahbub Uz Zaman, currently serving as the Bangladesh high commissioner to Sri Lanka, as the new Bangladesh high commissioner to Singapore.
A career diplomat, Ahsan also served Bangladesh High Commission in London, Bangladesh Embassies in Beijing and Washington DC, and Bangladesh Consulate General in Dubai.
He graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology and is a BCS Cadre.
Zaman, also a career diplomat, previously served the Bangladesh High Commissions in New Delhi and Ottawa, Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo, and Bangladesh Permanent Missions to UN in Geneva and New York.
He obtained an MSS degree in Economics from Dhaka University and a Diploma in French Language and International Relations from Institute Pro Linguis and AGCD, Brussels. He is also a BCS Cadre.
