Sisimpur: New delights for Bangladeshi children

Who would have thought Halum, Tuktuki, Shiku and Ikri would become household names among children when they first appeared on Bangladesh television four years ago? Right now the Sisimpur family is in the studio filming a milestone fifth season of the favourite programme, says a press release.

This international award winning pre-school programme for Bangladeshi children is funded by US Government through the United States Agency for International development (USAID). The fifth season promises many new exciting features, including some new faces Shanto and Abby.

The fifth season will feature a huge kite festival in Sisimpur's neighbouring village Bokulpur.

Then there's the new corner in the Sisimpur Library called Children's Corner. Two new interesting animation characters -- rubber and pencil will be instrumental in teaching children various reading and writing skills.

Sisimpur is telecast on BTV and BTV World on Fridays at 9:05 a.m and re-telecast on Saturdays at 2:15 p.m. and Wednesdays and Thursdays at 4:05 p.m.
