Foreign Adviser Dr Iftekhar Chowdhury has said Bangladesh is going to start exporting manpower to Poland, as 204 skilled workers have already been selected for the purpose.

The adviser, also in charge of the Expatriate's Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry, said this after Jacek Ziellinski, managing director of a Polish company, Promo Man, met him here yesterday.

"This is just a start and I understand the Polish authorities are eager to import more manpower from Bangladesh in future," Iftekhar said after a meeting with an official delegation from Poland.

The adviser also discussed expanding economic relations between the two countries and the issue of manpower.

"This is exactly in line with our new 7-point strategy for manpower export", he said.

"If we can prepare ourselves adequately, many more new markets will open up for us", the adviser added.
