Two people allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents in the city's Adabar and Turag yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Rifat Linda Khan, 29, employee of a private firm, and Ibrahim Bepari, 28, a grocer of Ranavola in Turag.

Rifat's body was recovered from her residence at Prominent Housing of Adabar in the morning and sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy, said police.

She might have taken poison but the reason was not known, said Shamim ur Rashid Talukder, officer-in-charge of Adabar Police Station.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim's body was found hanging by the neck with a scarf from the ceiling fan in his residence at Ranavola around 9:00am.

His family members claimed depression over different ailments might have caused him to commit suicide.
