Heavenly Bodies

The people of this region recently experienced a solar eclipse. The big wonder of this cosmic spectacle is supposed to be the improbability of it all. Mere mortals, we gaze up and wonder how these heavenly bodies line up so perfectly. The simple truth is, of course, given a long enough timeline, even the most improbable thing happens. From the beauty of a flower in nature to a mathematically perfect tornado, when looked at closely, almost everything is a miracle. Looked at from a distance, almost nothing is.

On to more earthly matters, in our tours around Bangladesh, this time our stop was Khulna, once again under the banner of the contest “Celebrating Life”. Khulna is one of our more important districts with a lot of work still to be done, and a forest which is the pride of the nation. Other stories inside include one on a 360-year-old structure in Jessore that is becoming more and more inaccessible day by day since there just aren't any good roads that lead up to it.
