20 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE A galaxy of stars descended on the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre Friday evening as The Daily Star celebrated its 20th anniversary with the slogan “40 years of independence, 20 years of independent journalism”. They hailed from all strata of the society, from teachers to ministers, from diplomats to politicians, students to bureaucrats and cultural activists to business leaders. They joined the grand ceremony to share their love and support for The Daily Star. The presence of 10 newspaper editors from India, Pakistan and Nepal, including veteran Indian journalist and political commentator Kuldip Nayar, only added to the glitters of the night. In addition to enjoying an illustrious photo exhibition on the country's landmark events over the last 20 years, the guests were also enchanted with a dazzling display of lights, music and cultural performance. .................................................................................................................................................
