NSU MBA Club publishes Resume Book 2006

MBA Club at North South University (NSU) has just published the Resume Book 2006. The Resume Book 2006 provides a treasure trove of information on the background and credentials of the best and the brightest NSU has to offer. The publication disseminates useful information about skilled, trained and talented job seekers to potential employers.
Teachers' Training course begins at DU
Teachers' Training Course on 'Quantitative Methods and Micro Economic Problem of Bangladesh' has started in Dhaka University. The course has been organised by Bangladesh Economic Teachers' Association (BETA). Forty teachers of various colleges from across the country are taking part in the training course.
IUB orientation held in Ctg
The orientation programme of Autumn Semester of Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), Chittagong Campus, was held on the university campus.
Chittagong Campus coordinator of IUB Prof. Dr Syed Safdarul Haque presided over the event. The discussion held on this occasion was addressed, among others, by Prof Dr M Nuruzzaman, Associate Professor Dr M Aiyub Islam and Assistant Prof Tahlil Azim.
NUB -BCSAA agreement
Northern University of Bangladesh and BCSAA have agreed to collaborate in providing of NUB's Postgraduate Diploma in Governance Studies to participants from the Civil Service, with the possibility of the program leading to PGD in Governance offered, administered and conducted jointly by NUB and BCSAA.
DU MSS course final examination from 26 August
The MSS course final examinations of 2004 session of Social Welfare and Research Institute of Dhaka University will commence from 26 August. Full schedule of the exam has been put up on the notice board of the Institute.

Debate competition held at People's University of Bangladesh

The People's University of Bangladesh's (PUB) School of Business Administration organized 'Inter University Business Debate Competition-2006 on 5th August, 2006. Following universities are attending in the competition: Dept. of Management Studies, Dhaka University, Dept. of Finance, Dhaka University, Daffodils International University, Stamford University, Asian University of Bangladesh, Northern University, Victoria University (Bangladesh Campus), University of New Castle (USA), 2 teams of the host university (PUB) are also participating.

The inagural ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Md. Aslam Bhuiyan, Vice Chancellor (Designate) and inagurated by Dr. Mizanur Rahman Shelley, Chairman, CDRB. Dr. M. Mosharraf Hossain, Chairman, Rapport Bangladesh Ltd. attended the opening session as a special guest.

Among others Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali Chairman, School of Business Administration, Ms. Rubaba Rahman, Assistant Professor, Ms. Rehnuma Zahir Tarafder, Assistant Prof., Ms. Tahura Pervin, Lecturer, Ms. Sabrina Jahan adjunct faculty also spoke on this occasion. Lottery to pickup debate topics was done by the Registrar of the University Muhammad Kamaluddin.

Dr. Mizanur Rahman Shelley in his speech mentioned that People's University's School of Business Dept. is maintaining high standard of educational quality.

Prof. Dr. Md. Aslam Bhuiyan commented that through Inter University debate competition students of different universities can exchange their views and also come together to create bond of friendship.

The program ended on 17th August, 2006. Semifinal was held on 13th & 14th August, 2006.

PUB celebrates 10th Anniversary

The People's University of Bangladesh organised a get together meeting to celebrate 10th Anniversary on 12th August, 2006. The program was started under the session chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor (Designate) Prof Dr Md Aslam Bhuiyan while Chief Guest was Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors Prof. Syed Abdur Razzaque. Among others Chairman of the Dept. of Business Administration Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Asstt. Prof. Rubaba Rahman, Rahnuma Zahir Tarafder, Lecturer Tahura Pervin, Saiful Islam also spoke on this occasion.

In this program, a drama entitled "Election" written by Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali was staged.

A rally with horse-cart was brought out, recitation from poetry, dance and Band shows were also held.

AIUB - Microsoft IT Academy programme

American International University, Bangladesh (AIUB) launched Microsoft IT Academy Programme. Dr Carmen Z Lamagna, Vice Chancellor, AIUB and Feroz Mahmud, Country Manager, Microsoft Bangladesh Ltd., Jointly launched the programme. Hasanul A Hasan, Founder and Vice President, Treasury, HRD and Admin, AIUB, Ishtiaque Abedin, Founder and Vice President, International Affairs, AIUB and KM Imran Al-Amin, Manager, Public Sector, Microsoft Bangladesh Ltd., among others, were present on the occasion.

Under the Microsoft IT Academy Programme, AIUB will be offering world class international certifications on MCSE, MICSD, MSITP, MCPD etc. to its students. With these international certifications AIUB students will be able to get better IT jobs in Bangladesh or anywhere in the world.

Microsoft IT-Academy at Northern University Bangladesh

Education on Information Technology (IT) has proven its importance and impact on the socio-economic development of the global society. No nation can go without this modern tool for all round development strategy. So the establishment of an IT-Academy here at the Northern University is the need of the hour for our developing country, Bangladesh where qualified IT manpower is still scarce. Microsoft has come forward to collaborate on this laudable venture with Northern University. Northern University Bangladesh is imparting IT-education and short term training through its Department of Computer Science and Engineering since a few years back. By this time it has gained name and fame in this field. The courses are given by a team of experts from the CSE Department of NUB.
