Auspicious beginning of ULAB's new campus

The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) inaugurated its new campus building to mark their 2nd anniversary on October 1.

The new building is situated at Dhanmond and is equipped with state of the art facilities.

It has a fast growing library containing 6000 books and journals, computer lab, digital and telecommunication lab and a modern media lab.

According to ULAB authorities the building has all the facilities that might be necessary to quench the thirst of a learner and will certainly help a student to reach his goal in all respect.

The inauguration ceremony was divided into two sessions. The first session started with a power point demonstration by Dr.Kazi Anis Ahmed, direcctor of academic affairs ULAB. He explained the teaching methods of ULAB and the vision that the university has. The demonstration featured academic and extracurricular activities

of the ULAB students.The demonstration was followed by the speech of the chief guest M. Shamsul Islam minister of information. He thanked ULAB for inaugurating such a modern campus and hoped that ULAB will fulfill its vision.

He was followed by the special guest Ehsanul Huq Milon,state minister for education.

He hoped for the very best of ULAB. In his speech the vice chancellor of ULAB Kazi Shahid Ahmed thanked both the guests for coming to the ceremony and hoped that soon his university will lead the educational sector of Bangladesh.

He was followed by the Pro.VC of ULAB Prof. Rafiqul Islam. In his speech he explaned the possibilities that ULAB can provide to a student to develop both mentally and physically. He said ULAB currently is the only university with a cricket ground and in near future it will provide a student with all that might be necessary to make the most of his/her student life.

After the speech session the chief guest accompanied by the special guest and VC cut the red ribbon of a symbolic book named the "Book of Knowledge" to inaugurate the campus.

Also six meritorious students were given scholarships on the occasion. One of them received the Kazi Anisur Rahman scholarship.

The recipient of the scholarship is Md. Gulam Samdani Don from Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) department. He received full tuition waiver and he will also receive an amount of taka 2000 every month according to his performance. The other five received Deans honours list scholarships abd they are Md. Khairul Anam from BBA, Mahbub Anam from CSE, Skaikh Javed Mahmood from MSJ, Md. Shafiul Alam Khan Chowdhury from English and Md. Ashfaqur Rahman from ETE.

The first session ended with the scholarship presentation and it was followed by Iftar session. Many eminent citizens attended the ceremony.
