Fresh tips for IUB freshmen

Muntaser Rahman Abir

Autumn or the fall semester At IUB has already commenced. University campus premises have come alive again. New and fresh noises are filling the classrooms. But the real fun begins when this fresh bloods step in to the real academic world of IUB. This refers to the hazard students undergo during the registration period and some other activities. So my dear freshman friends keep up the fun but also remember some tips those are essential to be a successful IUB student. They are:

1. From the very first semester be sure about your academic adviser because this is a common case that many students go to the wrong adviser and the advisers wrong decision cause additional hazard.

2. Collect your subject catalogue and take courses with proper consultation with your adviser. Otherwise unnecessary course load may hamper your graduation process.

3. Be absolutely sure about the foundation course and major courses. Unwanted courses will add credits to your list which may not fulfill the major school requirement.

4. Declare major by the first year. Be clear and then only start taking major courses.

5. Always keep an eye on the notice board because it gives you and up-to-date view on the university activities.

6. Always be a regular student in the regular semesters (in autumn and spring). That means take at least 4 courses (12 credits). It will enable you to complete graduation in exactly four academic years. Anything less then 4 courses will nothing but longer your stay in IUB.

These are just some essential thing to remember to be in IUB.
