Amazing facts of brain

When we think we use our brain that uses energy. Food provides this energy. So when we think, we lose our energy & weight as well. The proportion of the calories we take is 20% that our brain uses.

Neurons are connected to hundreds or thousands of other neurons. There are 1,000,000,000,000,000 (10 lac billion) annexations of neurons in brain. If each neuron can interact with anywhere between 1 and 100,000 other neurons then the brain's potential for pattern forming is a massive number that even in normal text would require 10.5 million kilometers of space to write one another. Twenty five percent of our brain is committed to do seeing only. Although there have been resemblance between men's & women's brain, but women have better language proficiency. The brain is cream in color & has the consistency of a mushroom (small grey vegetable used on pizzas).The brain is about the size of two clenched fists & weighs about trillion & trillion molecules. We have a bigger brain proportionally than any other animals but the blue whale has the biggest one.

Only through our eyes the one part of the brain is obvious from outside. If we scan a person's brain & then give him different activities to do, the different areas of his brain will light up when he listens to words and music. It is the last 500 years or so that mankind caught the message that the brain was located in the scull. Previously it was thought the brain was located in the heart or stomach. Humans have changed through thousands of years of evolution, but our brain has 30,000 years of its present capacity.

The upper part of brain is divided into two halves. In optimum people, the left half deals with linearity & analysis, word, logic, number, list and the right hemisphere deals with imagination, rhythm, color & controls abstract thinking and intuition. Great minds used both hemispheres to develop more effectiveness of total performance.

Car drivers have bigger brain. A study revealed that after learning all of the routes necessary to be a taxi driver in London, the part of brain used for remembering routes was bigger than in other people. (The London Times)
