Exhibiting academic programs

Edward Apurba Singha

The term “education exhibition” literally means a gathering where different universities come together to exhibit their academic programs and education-related facilities. Naturally it is a unique platform where both students and academicians get several options to make a sagacious decision. Consequently, different academic institutions utilize this opportunity to analysis the students' needs. Education exhibition is a common phenomenon in Bangladesh and it already captured huge attention of knowledge hungry people.

In foreign universities prospective Bangladeshi students outshine foreign students by their outstanding academic performance. Surely this scenario delighted us and if we desire to continue this trend we have to reduce the information gap. Information gap means deficit information and for this reason many Bangladeshi students are not able to choose the right avenue for their career. In order to address this problem British Council every year organizes an event commonly known as Education UK Exhibition. Since its inception this initiative proves resounding success and in the same time pave the way to acquire foreign admission. The Education UK Exhibition 2007 was held in Dhaka from March 1-to-3 at the Winter Garden, Dhaka Sheraton Hotel and from March 6-to-7 at the Peninsula in Chittagong. The event in Dhaka was formally opened by the Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, Prof. SMA Faiz.
