Perfect coordination between theory and practice is of paramount importance in the context of the modern business world, in order to resolve the dichotomy of theory and practice. Internship programme is one such opportunity for acquisition of practical knowledge in business and industry. It familiarizes a student to the real life scenario and thereby helps them launch a career with some prior experience. It prepares a level playing ground for students of all disciplines who will be the potential executives/employees.

A question arises here. Can practice without theoretical knowledge yield expected results? On the other hand, theoretical knowledge without practical experience has no meaning.

It is felt necessary that every student should apply their knowledge to their own field of work. So after academic education, student must know the avenues through which they can apply their knowledge in the complex arena of practical life. Thus the internship programme is a great effort to gather knowledge from the practical field immediately upon completion of theoretical knowledge.

The internship is a preparatory step towards a full-scale career. The primary goal of internship is to provide job exposure to the students and give them on opportunity for translating theoretical concepts to real life situations. Another objective of internship programme is to help students develop the required knowledge and understanding of theoretical concepts and practical techniques for marketing as well as managerial discipline in order to cater to the growing demands of the job market, and successfully participate in the competitive arena of the modern global village.

Educational institutes have a very bold step to take. They always have to patronise and encourage the students. The students in turn have to build strengths by maximising the opportunities as well as through eliminating weakness and avoiding threats. These make an important contribution towards a culture of accountability and transparency in micro and macro management of the country as well as of the world, which in turn is a precondition for institutionalisation of good governance skills.

In one of his rhymes, Shakespeare had invited us to live under a tree where there would be no discrepancy among the rich and the poor, no want of food, where people would live peacefully, birds would sing sweet songs. He had invited people of all ages there, to shun our ambitions and live there.

The rhyme is called “Under The Green Wood Tree”. You might think: what is the purpose of writing a summary of Shakespeare's rhyme?

Do you think there is any such place in reality?

You might say “NO”.

But there is such a place and it is in our university campus -- under the Banyan tree.

The place is beautiful and from 8: 00am to 8: 00pm it remains as colorful as though it were a party. This is a place where you will found some taking their breakfast or tea, some gossiping while are reading, some are readjusting their make-ups (girl) and others are singing songs. Life here is young and colorful. We, the students, are proud that we have such a place.

That's why the place “Under the Banyan Tree” of our university is a place of daily festivals for us.

Unlike the festival of Pohela Baishakh in Ramna Boto Mool, here we have festivals every day of the year. That's why I think of this place as being akin to the place Shakespeare mentioned. Shakespeare had invited people of all classes and ages, but here I'm inviting those with young hearts to see how enchanting our everyday life is.

From Paratha to Pitha, Barger to Biriany all kinds of foods are available here. The place is situated to the east of our university campus. We the students call it BOT Tala but it's more than a typical BotTala for us.
