Preparation for job

Today is the age of competition. As the citizens of a developing country we have to face competition in every sphere of our life. This competition gets even tougher when we finish our studies and start looking for jobs. Unemployment is one of the biggest problems in Bangladesh. Thousands of candidates apply for a single post. To face the battle of the jobs one must prepare himself from his student life .It is a pity that most of the university graduates are clueless about career development in Bangladesh.

Now there are a few things one can do to increase his value in the job market. A university can play a huge role in preparing a student for the job, most of the good universities have a career and resource centre .The main task of this institution is to prepare a student for the jobs by providing necessary information and link. Students must remember one thing that a good CGPA is not the only criteria the job market is looking for. Qualities such as good communication skills, smartness, common sense and presentation skills are valued highly. So students should put more efforts in mastering these skills. One should get engaged in various types of extra curricular activities in order to do so. There are a lot of clubs in a university such as debating club, business club etc that one can join and thus polish his skills.

Internship period is the time when students get the exposure to the whole job atmosphere. During this period one should try to understand whether he is able to handle this job or not. If he finds that he lacks the qualities for the jobs he can always consult his seniors for advise. The teachings of internship period will help students in the future life. Getting a good job and making stable growth in career is what every student dreams of. But due to lack of information sometimes brilliant students fail to get hold of good jobs.
