Nazmus Sakib Onik

I haven't seen our Liberation War. Whatever I know is from books and films. When I read and watch these books and films, sometimes my eyes become wet, my fingers form into a fist. I feel pain in my heart. But, I have to stop. What will I do?

But no, I don't cry alone. There are others who don't even belong to this land but cry with us when they hear the story of the sufferings we endured for our freedom

Let me tell you a real life story. Last year, I was going somewhere in a bus. A French man came and sat beside me. With 16 December fast approaching, most cars, buses, rickshaws and shops flew our National flag to express their emotion and love for our beloved country. But, the French man could not understand the meaning. He asked me about the reason. I told him all about our Liberation War, about our freedom fighters, our sufferings and about the barbarian acts of the Pakistani soldiers. He was astonished and became emotional too. He said, "You the Bangladeshi people are very courageous. You didn't fear to die for your country. Bravo Bangladesh, bravo!!" He stood up and looking at our National flag, which was in front of the driver's mirror, he SALUTED!!!

I couldn't stop crying. I cried again. But, this time I cried with joy and shouted hoarsely - JOY BANGLA!!!
