Congratulations to our sisters

When I was in medical college only 20% of the students were female.” Said Dr Nafiza. But those days are gone. In this year's medical admission test, for the first time in Bangladesh, more then 51% of the total seats have gone to our worthy sisters. Despite facing one of the toughest competitive examinations in Bangladesh they proved that they are not behind the boys. It was also observed in the recent S.S.C and H.S.C and university admission tests that their success rate is sharply increasing.

Today women are more professional and career oriented. They are no more confined within kitchen and behind closed doors. It has been proved time and again that if they were given the same opportunity they would not perform any less than the boys.

But still we can see that a large number of well-educated women prefer to be housewives only. I know one such talented student of Dhaka University who after completing her Masters in Microbiology has become a housewife only. What a waste of her intellectual property!

Intelligence is a gift so we should use this for the whole of mankind. Some families still hesitate to give permission to their daughter or daughter-in-law to choose a career. But very slowly the trend is changing. If we can change this mindset as early as possible then it would bring benefit to the nation in a broader perspective. So, congratulations to our sisters. Go ahead and we are always with you. Bangladesh is waiting for you.
