From its establishment in 2002, CUET Debating society regular organizes different debate programs in the campus. The three-day long festival included a debate workshop, an inter university parliamentary debate competition, a public speaking competition, a film show and a cultural program. Professor Dr. Anupam Sen, Vice Chancellor, Premier University, inaugurated the Festival on 7th March. Dr. Shyamal Kanti Biswas, VC, CUET was the Chief guest of the program. Dr. Abdur Rashid, Chairman, Organizing Committee; Dr. Badiussalam and Abu Raihan Rakib (President, CUET DS) also spoke on the occasion. After the inaugural session, the debate competition started. BUET, CUET, Jahangirnagar University, RUET, KUET, Rajshahi Medical College, Rajshahi University, Khulna University, Chittagong University, East West University, University of Science & Technology Chittagong (USTC), Premier University and International Islamic University Chittagong participated in the competition.

The first and second session of the competition was held on the 7th and 8th March respectively, with BUET, CUET-1, Jahangirnagar University and Chittagong University emerging the winners of these two rounds. “Liberation war of 1971 is not finished'-was the motion of the First semifinal in which BUET defeated Chittagong University. “Information Technology is the latest weapon of imperialism”-was the motion of the second semifinal in which CUET was the winner against Jahangirnagar University, setting up an exciting final.

“This house proposes that, not the economic but the political backwardness is responsible for the backwardness of Bangladesh.”-was the motion of the Final round. After a gruelling final, BUET became the Champions and CUET were the Runners-up. The BUET Team comprised of Ataur Rahman, Rashedul Islam and Sadi, Shahe Arefin, Shuvashish Chakrabarti and Faisal Rabbi were the Debaters of CUET team. Adjudicators of this round were - Tahsinuddin Ahmed (President, Bangladesh Debate Federation), Prominent Debater Rafiqullah Romel Sana, Dr. Sudip Ranjan Dev, Dr. Masud Rana and Adnan Mannan.

There was also a model exhibition debate in this Festival. “Shopno Dekhi Eka Ami”- was the topic of the Barowari Debate. Radio Foorti was the Radio Partner and Channel-i was the media partner of the program.

Prominent Author Syed Abul Maksud was the Chief Guest at the Closing ceremony. Dr. Jamal Nazrul Islam, Ramakanta Bhattacharia (Director, Marketing, Ruby Cement), Biswajit Chowdhury (Assistant Editor, Prothom Alo) were the special guests of the occasion. Dr. Shyamal Kanti Biswas presided over the meeting.
