Daylong “Leadership Summit”
held at East Delta University

Aday-long “Leadership Summit for the Leaders of Tomorrow” was organized by the East Delta University (EDU) on Saturday, the May 10th at its campus in Agrabad Commercial Area, Chittagong. The Summit was a step towards a series of seminars and workshops undertaken by EDU to develop latent abilities of the country's young generations and to transform their capabilities into distinctive world-class professional competencies; so that they equip themselves to face the future challenges professionally and become able business leaders; and thereby, building a strong network. The participants were the students of various educational institutions of Chittagong.

In the first batch of the workshop, a total of 48 students from Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB)-Chittagong campus, Premier University, Chittagong University, Southern University (SU), Metropolitan Commerce College, International Islamic University, Chittagong (IIUC) and East Delta University (EDU), attended the workshop.

The workshop was conducted on the basis of modern learning technique-Andragogy: “Tell, Show & Do,” Role Play, 3-Way Communication, Real Life Situation, Games, Activities, Brainstorming, etc. by the Assistant Professor of EDU A. Qaiyum Chowdhury. Among the speakers in the Leadership Summit included North South University's Professor Dr. Sheikh Tawfique who is also an adjunct Professor of EDU.

The workshop was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of EDU, Professor Dr. Syed Giasuddin Ahmed. Directors of EDU- Mr. Sayeed Al Noman, Ms. Sazia Abdullah and Registrar (in-charge) Professor Sajal Kanti Barua were present.

Special guests, Sunshine Grammar School & College's Principal Mrs. Safia Rahman and Metropolitan Commerce College's Vice Principal Mr. Zahedur Rahman addressed the gathering followed by the distribution of certificates and prizes among the recipients. In the Group Presentation category, IUB won the 1st Prize, SU won the 2nd Prize and IUB won the 3rd Prize.

In the individual category, Sabrina Sabah of IUB won the 1st Prize; Riyadh Ahmed of IIUC won the 2nd Prize; and Ahmed Farasha Tuba of IUB won the 3rd prize.

Ms. Nazrana Yousuf, Manager, Grameen Phone Ltd. Mr. Ahmed Jibran, Relationship Manager, Eastern Bank Ltd., Mr. Sajib Kazi, Sales Team Manager, Standard Chartered Bank, and Mr. Shakirul Islam of HSBC Bank were the jury members at EDU's Leadership Summit.
