My Dream Career

Md. Badiuzzaman

A dream career is not very easy to define with a single word; it is the sum of many different aspects associated with one's responsibility, life and personality. In general, every individual desires a career that provides meaning, purpose and satisfaction. To some people a dream career stands for a platform through which one can excel in career goals with sheer comfort and unlock the horizon of enormous possibilities. Identifying a career in terms of quality is very crucial and in defining a dream career I would like to add that a dream career portrays an occupation that people would excel in; a profession that explores and sharpens one's talent and skills. It is obvious that everyone needs to achieve certain goals in life before they can call themselves successful and well, I want to achieve my goals and become successful too. I have my own plans and visions in my lifetime. Some of these objectives are professional while others are personal.

Truly speaking, I dreamt of being a physician in my childhood. My parents inspired me to become a doctor and help people. However, life is full of uncertainties and unfortunately I could not make my dream come true since I had to go through certain ups and downs in my life. My dream career would be emphasizing areas where I am strong at and I can find fulfillment to make a difference in the lives of others. It has to be creative. My professional goals in life, therefore, are to get a good education, find a good job that makes me happy, and I can make enough money to support my family. More appropriately, I am doing MBA at United International University and I wish to major in Marketing. After having majored in marketing, I will look forward to a job that will allow me to practice my expertise in the field of marketing. The job prospect for a marketing major here and especially abroad, is noteworthy with its immense success. The practice of marketing is frequently expanding through multinational and corporate business platforms in our country.

I do find communicating with people quite enthusiastic and at the same time I am also convinced that through marketing one can easily build up a firm relation with people that raises up one's values and morals of life as well. At present, I am working for an online business company as a Customer Support Officer. Apart from providing my customers with support I do have to perform direct marketing with appropriate business strategies. To be specific, I have been immensely inspired to become a marketing professional as my existing job has given me opportunities to do some research on different marketing issues and strategies.

In availing my dream career, I would like to strengthen my communication skills as these days most of the opportunities are very much business oriented where the employers expect behavioral professionalism. In the process of studying MBA and doing my job, I have been able to nourish my communication and organizational skills which will eventually allow me to furnish my career with vivid orientation. It is worthwhile mentioning that in pursuing a career which I dream of, I need a set of principles that include honesty, confidence, motivation, enthusiasm, interpersonal skills, problem solving ability, creativity, and most importantly a can-do attitude.

Last but not least, some people dream of success while others wake up and work hard for it. The success stories of successful people reveal that one should bring out the proper enthusiasm within and give effort in achieving the career goals. Emphasizing that, I would like to shape up my personal skills and attributes in order to achieve the pathway to- wards my dream career.
