Official Website of DU Economics launched

The official web-portal (www.econdu.ac.bd) of Department of Economics, University of Dhaka has been launched recently. It contains almost all the updated information regarding this department.

This website contains a broad spectrum of essential information starting from the admission process, current courses to past and recent activities. It also includes an updated faculty list, resources for students, a brief history of this department and a lot more. The Forum provides the scope of online interaction among students and teachers.

All announcements and upcoming events are featured in the notice board.


NSU Career Fair 2008

The two-day long National Career Fair 2008, the 5th annual event of the kind, organized by the Department of Career & Professional Development Services (CPDS) of North South University, will be held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center on 25-26 October 2008.

Over sixty diverse firms are likely to participate in this event. This has the possibility of becoming the largest such fair in the country so far. There will be corporate giants, multinational companies and hi-tech firms. Banks and financial institutions, IT and telecom companies, trading houses, software makers and energy conglomerates will be present. This is meant to be a confluence and convergence of bright, eager and university educated, career oriented job seeking young men and women with progressive and enlightened prospective job providers with promising career prospects.

The fair is open to students and graduates from all public and private universities in the country with no cover charge.


Rajshahi University reopens

The Rajshahi University has reopened on the 12th of October after almost a two month (53 days) unexpected closure for political violence.

After Sep.11, the syndicate of Rajshahi University decided to reopen the university on 12 Oct .The news came as a matter of joy for the students who were missing all regular academic activities since Aug 20.

We can easily realize the damage that already has occurred on the unexpected closure .The students have lost about two months of classes and examinations.


NDF-BD Debate Festival to begin soon

The National Debate Federation Bangladesh (NDF-BD), is going to organize the 4th NDF-BD National Debate Festival' 08 with the slogan "Kollolito Burigongay Shopno Vase, Char Shotoker Bake, Juktir Uchchase". As a continuation of the success to organizing three national debate festivals this competition will be held on 1st & 2nd of November, 2008 at Zia Auditorium, National Museum, Shahbag, Dhaka.

With participation of about 2000 debaters from different schools, colleges & universities of the country this two day long festival has different segments including the Grand Rally, Model Debate of different formats, Public speaking competition in both Bangla and English, Debate Workshop, and others. Students from renowned English medium schools will attend a special session of Debate Schooling and Worlds model debate that will be held on the 2nd day of the festival.
