LINKIN Park is a familiar name for youngsters all over the world. As a fan of Linkin Park, I have always wanted to write about this world famous band.

Linkin park is a rock band from Agoure hills, California, USA. Three high school friends from Agoura High School first formed it in 1996. Mike Shinoda, Brad Delsos and Rob Bourdon anchored linkin Park's foundation. After completing graduation they became more serious about music, recruiting Joe Hann, and Dave 'phoenix' Farell. At that time their band was called XERO. They started their work in a makeshift bedroom studio, but their first project failed and under such dreadful circumstances, Wakefield and Farrel left the band. After spending a lot of time to find Wakefield's replacement, XERO conscripted vocalist Chester Bennington. After recruiting Bennington the band found a new direction and they also changed the band name into HYBRID THEORY. After few months, however, they again changed the band name to LINKIN PARK. After struggling for a long period of time the band finally released their first album Hybrid Theory from Warner bros. records in October 24, 2000. Hybrid Theory rocked nations; the band sold more than 4.8 million records during its debut year. Hybrid Theory was the best selling album of 2001. Linkin Park enlisted their name in Hollywood. The singles from the album were used in movies like Little Nicky, Valentine etc.

Hybrid Theory achieved the MTV award and was also nominated for the Grammy Award.

Linkin Park launched their first remix album Reanimation on July 30, 2002 and once again it was a huge success. This album got place on Billboard 200 and sold almost 270000 copies.

After the success of their first two albums, they spent a lot of time to announce their new studio album Meteora. Released on March 25, 2003 Meteora earned worldwide recognition. More than 800000 copies were sold during the first week. Meteora was the third best selling album in U.S.A during 2003.

Last year Linkin Park released their third studio album Minutes to Midnight This album was an outcome of fourteenth month's hard work and 600000 copies were sold in first week.

Linkin Park has experimented with their music successfully. They received inspiration and elements from nu-metal, rap rock, hip-hop, alternative rock and electronic.

Linkin park's current line up is:
* Chester bennington lead vocals
* Rob bourdon drums
* Brad delson lead guitar
* Dave “phonis” farrel- bass, back vocal
* Joe hann- turntable, programming, sample, beats
* Mike sinoda- emcee, vocals, rhythm guitar, piano

Linkin Park has received many awards including MTV, RADIO MUSIC AWARDS, and has been nominated for GRAMMY awards for two times.

Linkin Park participated in numerous charitable events. The band raised money for Hurricane Charley in 2004 and later Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The band also donated for Special operation warrior foundation and Tsunami in 2004. It also worked for REDCROSS.

So, keep rocking with Linkin Park.
