Beginning of a New Era at Oxford International School

ANOTHER dawn has ascended in the horizon of Oxford International School as it unleashed two new gateways of success - the inauguration of “The Duke of Edinburgh's Award” and “The Department of Performing Arts”. OIS recognizes that apart from the academic curriculum, extra curricular activities should play an equal role in a student's organic growth. HRH Prince Philip of England is the initiator of 'The Duke of Edinburgh's Award' for which students will be awarded on the basis of their skill, physical recreation, adventurous journey and complimentary service. M. Azizul Huq, Trustee of DEA Foundation and Managing Director of GlaxoSmithKline Bangladesh Limited was the Chief Guest and Jamie Lowrie, OIS teacher from Edinburgh, introduced the Award while Abul Fateh and Mr. Suman Kumar Saha, teachers of the school and National Director of DEA presented the aim and criteria. OIS Principal G.M. Nizam Uddin highlighted the importance of creativity, physical fitness and innovative skills in parallel to acquiring knowledge. The auditorium surely had wider eyes with rays of new found hopes to prove their potentials and to increase the heights of their goals in every way possible.
The Chief Guest, Chairman of ATN Bangla, Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman marked the initiative of the inauguration of “The Department of Performing Arts” as a new era for English Medium Schools with new promises and new steps towards success. Famous dance directors Munmun Ahmed, Dipa Khondokar, Sultan Haider, Anisul Islam Hiru and Lux Superstar Shanarai Devi Shanu attended the programme as special guests.
