Unleashing Youth, Unleashing Bangladesh comes to UIU

UNITED International University (UIU) hosted a grand seminar for the Bangladesh Brand Forum entitled “Unleashing Youth, Unleashing Bangladesh” recently. The event was coordinated and volunteered by the members of the United International University Entrepreneurship Forum (UIUEF) who worked vigilantly to make it a success. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Habibur Rahman, who encouraged all the students to actively participate at the seminar. 16 members of the UIUEF were presented with certificates for volunteering in this year's Bangladesh Brand Forum's event “Surviving Hyper Competition.”

The marketing head of Marico group Soumendra Sarkar Das, then took the floor. He said some very inspiring words to us like “We the Bengali, are not docile and should be unleashed. We are tigers and we should free ourselves from our own bindings and discover our true potential.” He showed us some video clips of the brands of Marico and their award winning advertisings, like that of Parachute, Saffola etc. During the question and answer session, one of the audience members asked as to why almost all of Marico's brands are so famous while the company's name is almost unknown to the common people. In reply to this, Das said that a company is really successful while their brands surpasse the name of the company. He is very proud that he is a part of this success story.

Next to speak was the chief adviser of Bangladesh Brand Forum, Prof. Syed Ferhat Anwar, who is a professor of IBA and also an adjunct faculty member at UIU. Prof. Ferhat enlightened us about what branding is and its aspects. Lastly, our UIUEF advisor Behroz Jalil formally closed our seminar by thanking all those involved in making the event a success. After the closing, all of the volunteers and organizers took pictures with keynote speakers and our faculty members.
