OSTITWER PROTISHRUTI: Community of Batch 2009 organized their national event on 9th May at the Hall of Fame of Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre. The theme of this event was TORUNER CHOKHE BANGLADESH: MUKTIJUDDHER CHETONAY. Students of about thirty leading schools of Dhaka city, like- Agrani High School, BCSIR School, Dhanmondi Govt. Boys High School, Govt. Laboratory High School, Viqarunnisa Noon School, YWCA School etc jointly organized the event. The students of Government Laboratory High School who have just given the Secondary School Certificate (S.S.C) Examination led the event. Through the theme they wanted to show how the youth think and how much they know about the Liberation War of 1971. LGRD minister Syed Ashraful Islam, M.P was present in that event. He in his speech said that if we fail to give the correct information about the independence war to the next generation then it will cost a lot to the nation. He thanked the fresh young organizers for organizing such a programme that will help the next generation to know about the glorious history of their country. Mr. Hamidul Hossain Tarek, Birbikrom, shared his experiences in 1971 with the young ones. Famous writer Anisul Haque said that the next generation should know their motherland as much as they know about themselves. There were also speeches from Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir,Associate Professor, CSE Department, BUET; Dr. Md. Jamal Uddin Chowdhury, Chairman, Maolana Vashani Medical College and famous actress Shampa Reza. The organizers brought out some new ideas, like- Plan Chet Debate, Theme Event to promote the theme. On the Plan Chet Debate they created a fake spiritual environment and Lucifer called on the departed souls of a Freedom Fighter, Yahya Khan, Shahid Jononi, Razakar, Birangona and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On the Theme Event, Rj Neerob, Rj Rabbi and Rj Raju shared their feelings regarding the theme. There were some surprising appearances of some prominent figures. Azizul Hakim, Kabir Bakul, Toukir Ahmed, Fahmida Nabi and many well-known figures spent their time with the young ones. Later there were some exciting events to entertain the audience. Ramp Walks and Dance Performances by the members of the community were the spectacular ones. Best rock bands of Bangladesh performed to celebrate the strength of unity. Warfaze, Artcell, Powersurge, Mechanix, Oblique, Eclipse, Eyes of Lies, Warsite and Inside U literally burnt the podium. There were some video clips that featured 'Behind the Event' works. Soon the programme is going to be overcast in ETV. Radio Today has promoted the show. It became a true festival of the youth where they passionately showed their green ideas in front of the present decision makers of our country. The fresh organizers tried to share their thoughts about Bangladesh. They succeeded on this context. Now its time to see whether this young, fresh but active batch 2009 can really do some good works in future to help the nation to reach its goal or not. OSTITWER PROTISHRUTI is unique in its name and work. Best of luck for them and hope that they will try their heart best to serve the nation.

(The writer has given S.S.C Examination this year from GOVERNMENT LABORATORY HIGH SCHOOL, Dhanmondi, Dhaka)
