THE inauguration ceremony of 5th Stamford Inter-Department Debate Championship organized by Stamford Debate Forum (SDF) was held at Siddeswari campus auditorium on June 11, 2009. This championship is sponsored by Jahid Office Equipment. Prof. Dr. M. Majibur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, Stamford University Bangladesh inaugurated the program as the chief guest. Abu Jahid Miah, Managing Director, Jahid Office Equipment was present as a special guest. In all, 45 teams from 13 departments will participate in this week-long traditional parliamentary format debate championship. Among the teams, 30 teams will debate in Bangla medium and other 15 teams will debate in English medium. Public Speaking and Bangla Baroary competition are also included in this championship.

Dr. Majibur Rahman, Additional Register; M. M. A. Sikdar, Head of Proctor of Stamford University; Mahbubur Rahman, Coordinator, Stamford Debate Forum (SDF) and Md. Imran Khan, President, SDF gave speech in the inauguration ceremony. The Star Campus, The Daily Bangladesh Shomoy and Radio Frooti are the media partners of this championship. The closing ceremony of this championship will be held on June 17, 2009.
