Finance Fest '09 An experience to remember

Naba Nashit Tareque

FINANCE Fest '09 organized by the students of the Department of Finance, University of Dhaka was an annual cultural event consisting of two day long cultural competition which took place on 28-29 June followed but the Grand Finale on July 2. For the students it was an experience of a lifetime because for the first time we got an opportunity to work together and organize such a massive program.

For a long time now the students of the Department of Finance were just too weary and tired of exams, report writing, presentations and the so-called routined life. Thus the students of 11th batch started planning a program. Here, I must mention the ceaseless efforts of our teachers Farzana Lalarukh and Pallabi Siddiqua.

It is simply impossible to pen down thoughts in just a few paragraphs. There are so many fond memories that all of us will cherish for the rest of our lives. I can never forget the amiable, lively faces of the youngsters from the junior batches I came across, whose great spirit, excitement and hard work took the event to a height beyond imagination. The very first person worth of praise among the members of the organizing committee is Rubaiyat for being a true benevolent leader & tolerating our naggings without any complain, then Adnaan for never taking no for an answer and never losing hope, Lima for being a constant moral support all throughout, Sakib for always focusing on the bigger picture, Tasmia, Mishu,, Riyasad, Shajed, Munira, Fuad and last but not the least the duo Saimum and Badhon for all their efforts and hard work. Without these people Finance Fest '09 would have just remained an unrealized dream.

Together we envisioned a common goal of creating something extraordinary, something that will touch the heart of the mass. We wanted to extract the hidden talents of the Finance people, to create a platform for them, which they can use further to establish themselves. I believe that the Finance Fest '09 has gone a long way in accomplishing these lofty goals.
