Gene mechanics

Dr. M. S. Haq

The full version of the article Gene Mechanics is being printed this week. Previously a shortened version of the same article was printed on 14th June 2009.

Efforts towards exploring genes switches - that control perhaps formation, placement, positioning, healing and regeneration of for example, human (such as, fingertips of the children) and animal body parts - have been going on at certain facilities in the world including inter alia those at Harvard and at Tufts of the US. A variety of atomic, electrical, electronic, mechanical, physiological, chemical and other premises or parameters (or both) of knowledge, understanding, skills, expertise and technologies are being used to identify and establish what I would like to call - motives and reasons behind the nature's behavior - in above areas, for example.

In the midst of said and other developments in the domain of gene and regeneration, I still believe the present day expeditions through uncertainties associated with the domain of gene and regeneration suffer from various limitations, relative, however, to time, space and other variables. A few of them along with suggestions (as appropriate) have been presented below - not in the order of priority and importance.

Similarities and diversities, whether in combination or otherwise, associated with say, behaviors of genes under variable environments are yet to be dealt with - at intra-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary levels - in a full and meaningful manner. As a result, a somewhat isolation type approach to RDE (research, development and engineering) in pertinent areas are shaping outcomes of efforts - that are for example, half-done or otherwise incomplete in nature, scope and usefulness.

The abilities such as: regeneration of human skins; regeneration of human livers; regeneration of entire body in the case of some worms; regeneration of parts of some plants; regeneration of environment in certain apparent ways, regeneration of human minds in perceivable ways - reflecting through human products such as books; plus other types of regeneration - and the inabilities associated with regeneration of body parts by living beings such as rabbits cannot re-grow their limbs; may, among other things and in a sense, be viewed and considered as two sides of a coin engineered by mechanisms of exclusion by inclusion and by mechanism of inclusion by exclusion, to mention a few.

It implies inter alia a key to for example, understanding above activities lies with: how best and quickest interfaces and connectivity between and among divergences and convergences associated with activities mentioned above could be discovered and internalized by say, human beings in pursuits of unearthing mysteries associated with the world of gene. A piece of advice here is: explore possibilities in pertinent areas in light of theories like, the string theory both in its present and evolving forms.

The hypotheses such as: ionization - at molecular levels of genes - is responsible for facilitating the placement of for example, human body parts - such as heart, lung, kidney and liver - - can be examined further via, among other things, sub-atomic level examinations of life, death and regeneration patterns, as well as cycles of concerned genes at a given time and under given circumstances, as well as environments. One of the underlying assumptions here is: since genes are inter alia products of pertinent medical and non-medical dimensions in the known universe, the function of gene switches mentioned above could be a sum total of what I would call - coordinated efforts of internal and external factors of human systems, and not merely the internal factor of human systems - used in a medical sense. A piece of advice here is: explore further gene-environment connections for establishing ionization-regeneration connections.

The world is, among other things, reintegrating at different levels and in a variety of ways as part of natural cycles. A windfall from the development is apparently being instrumental in re-molding behaviors of genes and outcomes of those behaviors - resulting in, among other things - influencing human minds and efforts towards more integrated and more inter-disciplinary solutions to challenges of survival, progress and continuity in the present day universe. The effort towards: one, unifying two biggest theories of 20th century - - that is, quantum and relativity; two an increasing use of integrated machining for surviving competitions in pertinent areas; three, emerging integrative medicine; and four, pluralism in democracy and governance; bears testimony to above developments.

In short, it can be said: the degree of success of genomics in the advancement of civilization of human beings and others or in the de-acceleration of civilization of human beings and others or a combination of both - through the future - would depend on inter alia the degree of success associated with unearthing for example, mysteries associated with physics, chemistry, psychology, biology, engineering, technology and other aspects of human systems, mysteries of environment systems surrounding human systems and intra, as well as interrelationships plus connectivity between and among those systems, essentially against the backdrop of apparent characteristics of the present day universe - - that is, change, transformation, relativism and recycling, to mention a few. It is to be seen: to what extent and how efforts towards formulation of a universe formula via unification of quantum and relativity would inter alia be instrumental in unearthing and explaining for example, mysteries associated with regeneration? Further, it is to be seen: to what extent and how sciences, arts, engineering and technology of genes would inter alia be instrumental in defending the universe formula and in reaping benefits for humans and other living beings out of that formula?

The last word: what about building, promoting and sustaining what I would call gene mechanics similar to say, quantum mechanics in the greater interest of universe - save and except products of quantum such as atom bombs. Let us work towards that.
