Graduation Ceremony at Sunnydale

Md. Rahber-E-Alam Raafa

ON the 21 November 2009, the graduation ceremony of Sunnydale was held at the Winter Garden of Sheraton Hotel. We, the students of O'level and A level batch of 2009 received our graduation certificates in presence of the honourable Chief Guest, Dr. Md. Professor Anisuzzaman of Dhaka University, along with the Principal of Sunnydale, Tazeen Ahmed, and many other guests. The graduation ceremony began with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by our National Anthem. Then the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sunnydale, Md. Tanvir Ahmed Khan gave his valuable speech and lastly thanked the Chief Guest for making the ceremony special by his graceful presence.

The Principal, Tazeen Ahmed gave her speech in which she highlighted the history of the emergence of Sunnydale. In addition, she wished all the candidates a good and prosperous life for the future. Lastly, the Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Md. Anisuzzaman, delivered a speech where he addressed us, the candidates as the bright future of Bangladesh and advised us to keep up the good work by focusing on our studies. At the end of the speech, we, the candidates received our graduation certificates from the hand of the Chief Guest. Around 78 students of O'level and 44 students from A-level received their graduation certificates on that day. In the midst of the certificate giving part, a nostalgic moment occurred when the name of one our closest friend, Syed Muheimenul Bari, was called upon, who died very recently. His parents took the certificate on behalf of him. After the certificates were handed out to us, there was a photo session held with all the students of O'level and A level standing with the Chief Guest and the Principal, Tazeen Ahmed. Eventually, the graduation ceremony officially ended with requesting the guests to head towards the refreshments. However, we stayed longer in the Winter Garden with our friends and family to take photographs in this most memorable day of our life.

Funny Bones

Vampire bat
A vampire bat came flapping in from the night covered in fresh blood and parked himself on the roof of the cave to get some sleep.

Pretty soon all the other bats smelled the blood and began hassling him about where he got it.

He told them to go away and let him get some sleep but they persisted until finally he gave in.

"OK, follow me" he said and flew out of the cave with hundreds of bats behind him.

Down through the valley they went, across a river and into a forest full of trees.
Finally he slowed down and all the other bats excitedly milled around him.

"Now, do you see that tree over there?" he asked.

"Yes, Yes, Yes!" the bats all screamed in a frenzy.

"Good" said the bat, "Because I sure as hell didn't!"

Dog Watch
Guest: "Why does your dog sit there and watch me eat?"

Hotel Host: "I can't imagine, unless it's because you have the plate he usually eats from."
