Photography Exhibition

A week long photography exhibition 'The Preceptor and The Disciple' by nationally and internationally acclaimed photographer and writer M.A. Taher was held at the Atish Hall of the Dharmarajik Maha Buddha Bihara. Organized by 'Bouddha Kristi Prochar Songha' on the occasion of the 78th birth anniversary of the distinguished Buddha religious personality Ven. Suddhananda Mahathero, the exhibition also saw a book launching ceremony of M. A. Taher titled 'Buddhists of Bangladesh.' National Professor Kabir Chowdhury presided over the function as the chief guest and inaugurated the exhibition and unveiled the cover of the book. Poet Belal Chowdhury, director of Bishwa Sahittho Kendro Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, general secretary of 'Bouddha Kristi Prochar Songha' Dr.P.K Baruya, historian Dr. Enamul Haque also graced the function as special guests.This is not the first time Taher has organized an exhibition on the Buddhists community. His photography exhibition on 'The Buddhists of Bangladesh' highlighting the life and works of the Buddha society of Bangladesh took place in Thailand and America. In his speech as the chief guest, National Professor Kabir Chowdhury said, “I have been always attracted by the Buddhist ideal of peace and nonviolence. The emphasis of the Buddhists on simple living and courteous behavior is something which always appeals me. This exhibition and as well as the pictorial book 'Buddhists of Bangladesh' is full of information about a vital community of Bangladesh. I am proud to be associated with this noble work by Taher."
