Tech Fiesta 2010 at NSU

RAJIUDDIN Ahmed Raju, Minister of Post & Telecommunications attended as the Chief Guest of the inauguration ceremony of the Tech Fiesta 2010. NSU Wireless forum organized the ceremony on 15 June 2010 at NSU campus. Dr. Hafiz G.A. Siddiqi, Vice Chancellor, NSU chaired the event. NSU Foundation Vice Chairman Benajir Ahmed, BTRC Chairman Major General (Rtd.) Zia Ahmed, NSU Pro VC Dr. SAM Khairul Bashar, Dhaka University Pro VC Dr. Harunur Rashid and Chairman, Dept. of EECS and Faculty Advisor of NSU Wireless Forum Dr. Miftahur Rahman also attended the ceremony.

 

Tree for a disaster free world


Some DU students arranged a 3-day Tree Fair-2010 from 17 to 19 June, on the premises of Borkota School & College at Daudkandi in Comilla with the help of the IUNO of Daudkandi Upazila.

 

An agreement has been signed on Thursday, 10 June at AEC auditorium, Ramna between Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) and National Professor Dr. M. Innas Ali Memorial Trust Fund. Prof. M. Shamsher Ali has signed the agreement on behalf of the Academy and Husne Ara Ali on behalf of the Trust. The objectives of the fund are to award gold medal, to award stipend to meritorious but needy students, and to arrange memorial lectures.

 

 

Industrial Interaction at PFI

STUDENTS at Pearl Fashion Institute had an industrial interaction with the country head of the buying office Asmara and his team on “Garment Washes”. They interacted with him to understand the demands of the garment industry in terms of innovations on the washed garments. Different types of washes, their effects and processes were discussed during the session. The students found the sessions very helpful as they got to learn from the industry experts. Such session add on to the class room learnings of the students at PFI and gives them exposure to the latest development in the garment industry.

 

DIU introduces English Language Club


The inaugural ceremony of the English Language Club at Uttara Campus of Daffodil International University was held on June 12. Prof. Aminul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University formally launched the club as Chief Guest. Prof. Md. Abul Hossain, Coordinator (Academic) presided over the programme. Prof. Sushil Kumar Das, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Dr. Binoy Barman, Head, English Department and Anil Chandra Paul, Coordinator (Admin), Uttara Campus, were present at the programme. Anisur Rahman gave address of welcome and Russel Howlader gave introductory speech regarding the formation of the ELC club. The members of the English Language Club presented a gala cultural programme on the occasion.


United International University Entrepreneurship Forum has launched its website www.uiuef.org, sponsored by Technobd Bangladesh. UIU EF has started its journey in early 2007 with a view to developing competent and aggressive business leaders. It has organised more than 30 events in UIU to encourage entrepreneurship quality among young generation. UIU students will be able to download helpful materials from this site as well as will be able to write in the online publication.

 

 

Debaters' Wing Bangladesh

SEDS: Debaters' Wing Bangladesh organised 2nd National English Debate festival at Satkhira on 13 June. More than 12 teams participated in this English Debate festival. Satkhira Govt. Boys' School, Satkhira Govt. Girls' School, Pollimongol High School, Rishipli Centre School, Pollishline High School, Champapul APC High School as well as PN Biam English Medium School participated in this tournament. The programme started with a rally organised by Dhaka University Students from Satkhira Deputy Commissioner's Premises. Deputy Commissioner Abdus Samad, Engineer Sirazul Islam, Chief Moderator Subhas Chowdhury, Convenor Sajal Roy and 75 students participated in the rally.
