6th Stamford National Debate Championship Held

Recently the Grand Finale and Prize Distribution ceremony of the 6th Stamford National Debate Championship was held at the auditorium of its Siddeswari campus. Professor Dr M Majibur Rahman, Vice Chancellor, presided over the programme while Dr M A Hannan Feroz, President, Board of Trustees, was present as the chief guest.

Motijheel Government Boys High School stood as the champion in the school level (Bangla) and Saint Joseph High School was the runner-up. The best speaker was Nafis Ferdous Saqib and Debater of the Tournament was Shouvik Kundu.

In college level (Bangla) Viqarunnisa Noon College (VNC) and Birshreshtho Munshi Abdul Rouf Rifles College faced each other. VNC was the Champion and Parisa Moshfeka was the best debater. Debater of the Tournament was Mahbubur Rahman from Residential Model College.

In the English Final Debate of School and College level, European Standard School (ESS) was the proud champion and Kazi Wasif Mahmud was the best debater. Debater of the Tournament was Sayadatun Ahona of Mastermind School.

In university level (English), LCLS, IUT-B, IUT-C, and IUT-D faced each other. IUT-C was the champion and the runner up was IUT-D. Shihab Naim Ahmed was the best debater and debater of the tournament was Sajid from Independent University of Bangladesh.

In University level (Bangla) Jagannath University became the champion and Amit Das stood as the best debater. Debater of the Tournament was Ismat Murshid Khan from LCLS.

Dr M A Hannan Feroz said, “Stamford Debate Forum (SDF) is the most successful and well-organisd powerful forum of Stamford University Bangladesh. Since establishment SDF has been glorifying the image of the university by arranging regular debate competitions, succeeding in national competitions and participating in international competitions.”
