Seminar on Theory of Relativity at NSU

The Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science of North South University organised a seminar entitled “Einsteinian and Non-Einsteinian Approach of Relativity” on February 29. Osman Gani Talukder, Former Professor, Department of Applied Physics and Electronics, University of Rajshahi, and Dr Mushfiq Ahmad, Former Professor, Department of Physics, University of Rajshahi, were present as guest speakers.

They have considered the variation of mass both in Non Einsteinian approach to relativity and in completed form of Einsteinian relativity. They have classified velocity into 2 classes Galilean and Relativistic. The Galilean velocity can have any value between 0 and 8; the relativistic velocity follows Lorentz-Einstein (L-E) law of addition and cannot exceed the speed of light c. They have developed the transformation relation between Galilean and Relativistic velocities. Using the relativistic rule for multiplication of velocities, they have demonstrated the velocity in the relativity factor of special relativity is Relativistic.
