Professor Zakir Hossain Joined FBE, DIU

Professor Md Zakir Hossain, Former Professor of IBA, University of Dhaka joined the Faculty of Business and Economics of Daffodil International University (DIU) on May 02, 2012 as a Professor. He did MBA from University of Sunderland, UK and PGDMS from UK. He has a long experience of 24 years at teaching, research and administration both in home and abroad.

DIUDC Stands Out as Runners Up

Daffodil International University Debating Club (DIUDC) became the runners up in the Inter Club Debate Competition 2012 organised by Sir A F Rahman Debating Club of University of Dhaka from May 9-12 at A F Rahman Hall.

32 debating clubs from different public and private universities participated in this competition. The final round and prize giving ceremony was held on May 12 where Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddiqi, Vice Chancellor, DU, was the chief guest while Professor Azizur Rahman, Provost, Sir A F Rahman Hall, was the special guest. The chief guest distributed prizes to the winners.

Orientation for newly joined Faculty Members

The orientation programme for the 16 newly joined faculty members of Daffodil International University (DIU) was held on May 12, 2012 at the Conference Room of the university. Presided over by Professor M Lutfar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, DIU, the function was also addressed by Heads of different departments. Professor M Lutfar Rahman welcomed them and urged them to make the best use of the facilities and resources provided by the university.

'Masters in Public Policy and Management' Introduced

Northern University Bangladesh and BCS Administration Academy (BCSAA) jointly inaugurated 'Masters in Public Policy and Management' (MPPM) at the auditorium of BCS Administration Academy on May 2. Abdus Sobhan Sikdar, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration, inaugurated the programme as the chief guest. Professor Abu Yousuf Md Abdullah, Chairman, NUB Trust and Professor M Shamsul Haque, Vice-Chancellor, NUB were present as the special guests. Sayed Ahsanul Haque, Programme Director, BCSAA delivered the inaugural speech while Shafique Alam Mehdi, Director General, BCSAA, chaired the ceremony.

Department of Law of Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) arranged a 'Graduation Dinner Ceremony- Spring12' at Canton Restaurant, Dhaka on May 5. Barrister Shafique Ahmed, Minister, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Bangladesh, was the chief guest at the programme. Professor Abu Yousuf Md Abdullah, Chairman, NUB Trust, and ABM Rashedul Hassan, Treasurer, NUB, were present as special guests. The chief guest distributed crests to the students who completed their graduation and post-graduation.
