Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics of Faculty of Animal Husbandry at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) organized a month long training programme on "Artificial Insemination and Reproduction" at the seminar room of the department. The training programme concluded on January 15.Vice-chancellor of BAU Professor Dr Md Rafiqul Hoque addressed the concluding ceremony of the programme as chief guest. A total of 51 persons from different areas of the country attended the programme. Later, the chief guest distributed certificates among the participants.

Daffodil International School, Dhanmondi students displayed and sold traditional winter cakes on Thursday, 17 January 2013 from 10:30 am to 01:00 pm at the school premises. A creative Writing Corner was an extra attraction. Little sellers from play group to grade 9 with great excitement displayed their professionalism in unfolding their knowledge on traditional pithas of Bangladesh and sold different kinds of pithas like vapa, pakan, malpowa, nokshi, etc. to their teachers and parents. This was very appreciable that every student, teacher and staff enjoyed a lot the program and it was nothing but the grand reflection of rich cultural heritage of beautiful Bangladesh in DIS yesterday.


Daffodil International University launched its operation at Ashulia Permanent campus

Academic activities of Daffodil International University launched at Ashulia permanent campus on January 15, 2013 through launching the classes of Spring Semester 2013.Dr Mostafa Kamal, Director of Permanent Campus inaugurated the academic activities as the chief guest. The function was also addressed by Professor Mahfuzur Rahman and others. Students admitted in permanent campus in BBA, CSE, Textile and English department attended the program. Daffodil International University started classes at its permanent campus with hostel accommodation facilities of 500 students from this spring 2013 semester.


Industrial Training For Students of Diploma Engineering

Every year, Energypac provides an opportunity of 'Industrial Training' for students of Diploma Engineering as a part of their academic course. A team of 20 diploma engineers are selected across Bangladesh to avail this opportunity to work at Energypac Power Generation Ltd. With a journey of three months, the trainees will be completing this course of 'Industrial Training' in January 2013. Energypac feels privileged to keep contribution in growing the national future skills.

Eastern University (EU) organized an orientation programme on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at its Campus-5 at Dhanmondi, Dhaka, for the newly admitted students of the spring 2013 Semester. Robin Davies, Director, Partnership & Planning, British Council, Bangladesh was guests of honor. Professor Dr Nurul Islam, Vice Chancellor, welcomed the students and depicted the distinctive nature of EU education which places credence of professional education on the foundation of cross-disciplinary liberal arts curricula.


NUB Organizes 'Orientation Ceremony' for the fresher of BBA Program

The Faculty of Business Administration, Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) arranged an 'Orientation Ceremony' for the fresher of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program of 'Spring Semester-2013' on 19 January 2013 at Dhanmondi Campus. Professor Dr M Shamsul Haque, Vice Chancellor, Northern University Bangladesh was the Chief Guest in the program. ABM Rashedul Hasan, Treasurer and Mr Md Abdur Rouf, Registrar of NUB were present as special guest on the occasion. The new comers were welcomed by giving flower at the beginning of the program. Professor Saeed Alamgir Zafar, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration chaired the program while Mr Md Lutfar Rahman, Head of BBA Program gave inaugural speech. Among others, Professor Mustafa Kamal and Mr Faizullah Kawshik, Joint Registrar and Coordinator of Dhanmondi Campus were also present on the occasion.


UAP Freshers' Reception Fall 2012

University of Asia Pacific arranged Freshers' Reception Program for students admitted into Fall 2012 Semester on January 10, 2012. Mr. Abdul Mohin Chowdhury, Acting Chairperson of UAP Board of Trustees was present at the Chief Guest of the program. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury presided over the function. All newly admitted students of Fall 2012 were present on the occasion.


Toronto University interested in Establishing Collaboration with Bangladeshi Universitities

University of Toronto is interested in establishing collaborative academic and research programmes with the universitities of Bangladesh for upliftment and internationalization of tertiary level education. The interest was shown when a three-member delegation led by Dr. Yu-Ling Cheng, Director, Centre for Global Engineering and Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, University of Toronto called on UGC Chairman (State Minister) Professor Dr. A K Azad Chowdhury at the latter's office. UGC Members- Professor Dr. Atful Hye Shibly, Professor Dr. M. Muhibur Rahman, Professor Dr. Abul Hashem, Professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain and UGC Secretary Dr. Md. Khaled were present during the call on.
