A Daily Show's First Birthday

Daily shows are still a novelty in Bangladesh's electronic media. Which is why the first anniversary of Ajker Shokal is a good enough reason to celebrate. Ntv's daily magazine programme Ajker Shokal will celebrate the telecast of its 365th episode on January 1, 2005.

Every morning at 8 a.m. Ajker Shokal brings in a variety of topics for viewers to savour with their cup of tea. The idea is to start the day with an optimistic state of mind.

The show covers diverse subjects such as personalities, society, culture, and technology of the country and the outside world. Ajker Shokal also has special slots for prominent local and foreign artists, writers as well as people from other professions. One of the major attractions of the show however, is its focus on the contributions and successes of talented individuals who have not been given any publicity before.

In addition, Ajker Shokal gives highlights of all the major events of the day. Says Parvez Chowdhury, producer of Ajker Shokal, "We have a creative and professional team behind the programme. As a morning show this programme focuses on positive issues for the audience. The editorial guideline of Ajker Shokal is to present everyday life."
