A Dawn at Sadarghat

Shraman Jha & Sami Ashraf

We do not normally rise at dawn. And grumble when made to do so. But the rewards of an early morning trip to Dhaka's bustling Sadarghat more than made up for the upheaval in our usual, mundane routine. A boat ride out into the river, watching the hundreds of launches steaming into port and the little row boats playing hide and seek with them was reward enough. Dhaka is certainly amongst the few cities in the world to have such a vibrant river front culture. Does that tempt you into a pre-dawn adventure too ?

1.An overview of the River Front at Sadar Ghat, where craft big and small jostle for space.
2.Now, which is the bigger boat !.
3.The quickest way off the launch !.
4.Veggies on way to your kitchen.
5.A Boat Load of Passengers crossing the Buri Ganga River.
6.A Rocket paddlewheel ship - the elegant cruise down the mighty rivers.
