When Hunger Bites

Children and women are the worst victims of Monga and remain in a constant state of hunger, often barely being able to get one meal a day. The tragedy is that the Monga season creates a huge setback for the already poor families who remain in this state for the rest of their lives being unable to escape from the vicious cycle of hunger- impoverishment and more hunger. Chronic malnutrition is the most dangerous 'disease' in these areas having devastating consequences on the productivity and wellbeing of these communities.
