Call for Charity

" The anguish he causes in the Bangladeshi community is not productive and his visa should be revoked. There are some very serious allegations over his head about war crimes."
MURAD QURESHI
a member of the London Assembly and the Metropolitan Police Authority
criticising the British government for granting visa to Jamaat-e-Islami lawmaker Delwar Hossain Saidee.
Saidee is a notorious figure in Bangladesh politics: During Bangladesh's Liberation War he is believed to have carried out numerous acts of war crime on behalf of the Pakistani army. Recently he has asked for a blood test for journalists to see if they are Muslims.

"Is that Omar al-Mamluk? This is the Israeli army. You have only a few minutes to leave your house."
A Newspaper Report
quoted a Palestinian in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army telephones Palestinians in the area before dropping bombs on their houses.

"It is simply impossible for me to work under the same roof with a complete liar like him."
KAZI SALAHUDDIN
former football player, Bangladesh Football Federation's (BFF) vice-president and chairman of the National Team Management Committee
about BFF President SA Sultan.

"I didn't demand anything for myself but the people want me as the president."
HM ERSHAD
deposed dictator and president of a faction of Jatiya Party
about his joining the Four-Party Alliance (FPA).

"…Condition of most of the BNP ministers at their constituencies is miserable. Now if JP joins us then it will make problem for our candidates too in Sylhet, Mymensingh and northern part of the country."
A Central Leader of Jamaat-e-Islami
about Jatiya Party's (JP; Ershad) joining the FPA.

"I will definitely quit the JP if Ershad joins the four-party alliance."
GM QUADER
MP and JP (Ershad) presidium member.
Quader is also Ershad's younger brother.

"Hence, everyone who took part in the crime must pay the price ... The whole world is an open field for us. Like they attack us everywhere, we too attack them everywhere."
AYMAN AL-ZAWAHIRI
Al-Qaeda second in command
in a videotaped message
urging Muslims to avenge Israeli attack on Lebanon and Palestinian Territory.
"The rockets and missiles tearing apart the bodies of Muslims in Gaza and Lebanon are not purely Israeli. They come from and are funded by all the countries of the crusader alliance," he says.

"I've reminded the prime minister-- the American people, Mr. Prime Minister, over the past months that it was not always a given that the United States and America would have a close relationship."
GEORGE W BUSH
president of the United States.
